Because I know from bitter experience how it works - EA ship to a timeline, not "when it's ready". I, personally, have a rule about not buying EA games in the first couple of weeks of its release. In this case I think Steve's score is based more on the potential of the game to be awesome when the stars align just right and on the basis that Dice are working their asses off to fix these problems.

I know logically that I spent a lot of time actually playing and having a totally awesome zombie-killing time, but probably my most vivid memory are all the times that I just couldn't play because of these stupid reasons beyond my control. While it wasn't actually broken (usually) per se, I just found it such a pain to use to get into a game with friends that I often felt I was spending more time f*****g around than I was actually playing the game.

I went through the same thing with Left 4 Dead and it's lobby system. However, there's clearly the other side of things - that it's SUCH a f*****g pain in the ass to get into a game that it really ruins the experience. I can appreciate Steve's perspective that, when you actually get to the play the game, it's awesome fun and everyone has a good time. This is a tough question to ask from a review perspective. This on my s***** Dell XPS m1530 thats about 2-3 years old - I frequently ended up dieing while in the throes of heavy chug :\ That and/or I just suck. Oh, my final issue - 8 hour singleplayer? Seriously? I dunno, I just played through on medium, which took approximately 5-6 hours. If you're not into orchestral then I guess you're crap out of luck, and I suppose it's vaguely disingenuous of them when they used decidedly rock music to advertise the game (what was it, the vines? I forget). You only need to read the BFBC2 twitter to see the number of times the XBOX360 servers have been down for apparent patching, only to be followed by another post 'so, apparently it's still broken for a lot of you.'Īmusingly, I actually quite the musical score in this game. The login servers part I feel could be more related to my current situation (living in China), so I wouldn't put too much weight on my specific complaint there - that said, it seems to be a large issue for a lot of people still. Given that the game was pretty much broken for a lot of people on release (still ongoing, for some), to comment merely that the server browser is 'lacking' seems somewhat of an understatement.įor myself, I'd probably have used the word 'down-right broken' for the server browser and 'dodgy at best' for the EA login servers. on this one, I feel like the review is way too lenient.

Not down the road when it's too late and 20 driver and application installs later.I'm with E.T.

Then to carefully watch what you throw onto that box so that you can identify what triggers this issue as it happens. Reinstalling windows from scratch after a quick format would be the best bet. To be honest unless you happen to come across someone with the exact same issue it will be pretty hard to remotely diagnose this issue. If this is you, stop the habit and reinstall windows. I wouldn't put any more thought into this issue.Ī lot of people have a BAD idea of installing anything and everything that they come upon. Maybe only if running IE64 would you bother.

There is a 64 bit version of java, but as far as I know you don't need it.
#Battlefield bad company 2 update you must be an administrator 32 bit#
You can run 32 bit applications in a 64 bit os, but not the other way around. How does java have anything to do with this issue? 32 bit java is fine.

Did you manually install drivers for these devices or did you just plug them in and they work?
